Request account deletion

Learn how to request support-assisted account deletion, what is disabled, what the 30-day waiting period means, and which limited records may be retained.

Account deletion is support-assisted. You submit the request from your Security settings, and Uptime Basics reviews it before starting a reversible 30-day waiting period.

Before you begin

  • Cancel any active subscription from Account > Billing first. A scheduled end-of-period cancellation is sufficient.
  • Export any logs or invoices you want to keep.
  • Consider pausing or archiving monitors instead if you may need the configuration later.
  • Permanent deletion cannot be undone after the waiting period ends.

Submit a deletion request

  1. Sign in to Uptime Basics.
  2. Open Account from the Settings menu.
  3. Select Security.
  4. Find Delete account.
  5. Review the deletion and retention summary.
  6. Select Request account deletion, then confirm the request.

Uptime Basics emails you when the request is received. Your account and monitoring remain active while support reviews it.

What happens after support approves the request

Support confirms that subscription cancellation is scheduled and starts the 30-day deletion period. At that point:

  • you are signed out and cannot sign in;
  • website checks stop;
  • email and SMS alerts stop;
  • API access is disabled; and
  • customer public status pages are disabled.

You receive an email showing the scheduled permanent-deletion date.

Cancel a deletion request

Before support starts the waiting period, return to Account > Security and select Cancel deletion request.

After the waiting period starts, contact support@uptimebasics.com before the scheduled deletion date. Support can cancel the deletion and restore eligible monitors and status pages to their previous enabled or disabled state.

What is permanently deleted

After the 30-day waiting period, Uptime Basics permanently removes monitor configuration and operational monitoring data associated with the account. This includes checks, incidents, alert history, rollups, expiry-monitoring data, and customer status-page configuration. Deleted operational data cannot be recovered.

What may be retained

Uptime Basics may retain the minimum records reasonably needed for billing, invoices, tax or legal obligations, consent records, security audits, fraud prevention, and enforcement of trial eligibility. These retained records do not include your password, full payment-card details, verification codes, request secrets, or monitoring data that is no longer needed.

Troubleshooting

The request button is unavailable

Open Account > Billing and cancel the active subscription first. Return to Security after the cancellation is scheduled.

You cannot sign in after approval

This is expected after support starts the 30-day period. Contact support from the account email address if you want to stop deletion before the scheduled date.

You need monitoring data before deletion

Contact support immediately. Data that has already expired under normal retention or has been permanently deleted cannot be restored.
