Confirmed incident records remain available for the life of the monitor. Their supporting raw checks, alert-delivery records, and chart rollups have separate retention periods.
Retention at a glance
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Incident history | Life of the monitor |
| Raw check logs | 30 days |
| Alert History | 14 days |
| Aggregated chart rollups | Up to 400 days |
| Monitor configuration | Until the monitor or account is deleted |
An incident can therefore remain visible after some surrounding check and notification records have expired.
What remains in an older incident
The saved incident can continue to show its type, Active or Resolved state, start time, recovery time, duration, diagnosis, and retained diagnostic record.
The Activity Log, Checks Around Incident, or downloaded JSON can become shorter as separately retained checks and alerts age out. Missing supporting records do not mean the incident was removed or never occurred.
Paused monitors
Pausing stops new checks and alerts. Existing data continues to age under the normal retention schedule. Incident history remains while the monitor exists.
Archived monitors
Archiving preserves monitor configuration during a plan change. Raw checks, Alert History, and rollups continue to expire normally. Existing incidents remain associated with the archived monitor.
Ended subscriptions
When paid service ends, monitoring and alerts stop. Monitor configuration and incident history remain associated with the account unless the monitor or account is deleted. Time-limited supporting data continues to age normally.
Deleted monitors
Deleting a monitor stops checks and disables its public status page immediately. The monitor remains recoverable for 30 days from Recently deleted, but supporting checks, alerts, and rollups continue to age under their normal periods.
Permanent cleanup of the monitor and incident history begins after the recovery period or when Delete permanently is selected.
Deleted accounts
Account deletion is support-assisted and has a 30-day waiting period. When permanent deletion completes, monitor configuration and operational monitoring data are deleted. Limited billing, invoice, consent, security, fraud-prevention, or legal records can be retained where required.
Preserve a troubleshooting record
Before deleting a monitor, download important incident JSON and export any raw checks you still need as CSV. Store exports according to your organization's security and retention policies.
