A Slack connection sends selected Uptime Basics monitoring events to one channel. It is useful when a team wants confirmed outages and recoveries in the workspace where operational work already happens.
Availability and allowances
Slack connections are available on active paid plans and share the same connection and delivery allowances as outbound webhooks.
| Plan | Connections | Delivery attempts per month |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | 500 |
| Plus | 3 | 2,500 |
| Pro | 10 | 10,000 |
The connection total includes Slack and generic outbound webhook connections together. Tests, retries, and manual redeliveries count as delivery attempts. Usage resets at the beginning of each UTC month.
Connect a channel
- Open Integrations from the customer dashboard.
- Find Slack and select Connect Slack.
- Sign in to Slack if prompted.
- Choose the workspace and channel that should receive notifications.
- Review the requested permission and approve the connection.
- Return to Uptime Basics and confirm that the workspace and channel appear under Connected Slack channels.
- Select Send test to confirm delivery.
Each authorization connects one channel. Select Connect another channel to add another destination when your plan has an available connection.
Permission requested
Uptime Basics requests Slack's incoming-webhook permission. This allows the connection to post messages to the channel you select. It does not request permission to read workspace messages, channel history, or user conversations.
The resulting Slack destination credential is encrypted and is never displayed in the customer interface. Treat any Slack webhook URL as a secret if you encounter one while managing your own Slack apps.
Default notifications
A new connection starts with:
- Incident opened.
- Incident resolved.
- All current and future monitors.
You can add status-change, performance, certificate-expiry, and domain-expiry events or restrict delivery to selected monitors after connecting.
If authorization does not finish
- Confirm you are still signed in to Uptime Basics.
- Confirm you are permitted to add apps or incoming webhooks in the chosen Slack workspace.
- Start again from Integrations if authorization was cancelled or the page was left open too long.
- Do not reuse an old Slack authorization callback URL.
