Add and verify an email address

Add an email destination, verify access with a code, and make it available for account contact or monitor alerts.

Verified emails can be selected for account contact, account-wide alert defaults, and individual monitor alerts. Each new address must be verified separately.

Before you begin

  • You must be able to open messages sent to the new address.
  • A verification code contains six digits and is valid for 15 minutes.
  • You can store up to eight verified or pending email destinations.
  • Requesting a new code makes the previous code unusable.

Add and verify an email

  1. Open Account > Alerts.
  2. Find Verified emails.
  3. Enter the email address and select Add email.
  4. Select Send code for the pending address.
  5. Enter the six-digit code from the verification message.
  6. Select Verify.

The address changes from Pending to Verified and becomes available in contact and alert destination lists.

What this verification means

The code confirms access only to the email address that received it. It does not change your login email, verify a phone number, prove ownership of a monitored website, or enable two-factor authentication.

The email used during signup is already the account's first verified email. Any additional address still requires this separate process.

If the code is not accepted

  • Enter only the newest code sent to that address.
  • Request a new code if 15 minutes have passed.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds before requesting another code.
  • After five incorrect attempts, request a new code to start a new verification session.
