Start and understand your 30-day trial

Follow the complete signup flow and understand payment, limits, reminders, cancellation, and activation for the Uptime Basics Starter trial.

The Uptime Basics trial provides the full Starter plan for 30 days. A valid payment method is required, but there is no subscription charge when an eligible trial starts.

What the trial includes

  • Up to 10 website monitors.
  • Five-minute availability checks.
  • Email downtime and recovery alerts.
  • 20 transactional SMS segments per calendar month.
  • Incident history, detailed logs, slow-response alerts, SSL monitoring, and domain-expiry monitoring.

Start the trial

  1. Enter your email, password, billing location, and any optional name or organization information.
  2. If the billing address is in Canada, select its province or territory. New Quebec accounts are not available at launch.
  3. Accept the Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
  4. Verify the email with the six-digit code.
  5. Add a valid payment method through Stripe Checkout.
  6. Review the Starter plan and trial terms in Stripe.
  7. Complete checkout and wait for the account confirmation.
  8. Sign in and create your first monitor.

Billing after the trial

Uptime Basics sends reminder emails 7 days and 1 day before the trial ends. Unless you cancel, Stripe charges the saved payment method $4.99 USD when the 30-day trial ends and the Starter subscription continues monthly.

Cancel during the trial to avoid the first charge. Access remains available through the scheduled trial end.

Trial eligibility

One free trial is available per customer or organization, verified email address, and payment method. Uptime Basics uses the verified email and a privacy-protective identifier supplied through Stripe to prevent repeated trials. Contact support if you are not eligible for another trial but want to start a paid subscription.

Upgrade during the trial

An upgrade ends the free trial immediately. Before confirming, the Billing page shows the selected plan and the amount Stripe will charge. After confirmation, Stripe charges the selected monthly plan price and the new plan limits become available immediately.

If the first payment fails

Monitoring remains active for a three-day grace period. Update the payment method from Account > Billing. If payment remains unresolved when the grace period ends, monitors and alerts are paused while monitor configuration and data within the normal retention periods are preserved.
