Uptime Basics verifies your email before creating the customer account and opening secure Stripe checkout. This confirms that you can access the address used for sign-in. After signup, that address also becomes the account's first verified contact and alert email.
This verification applies only to the signup email. It does not verify another email address or phone number, prove ownership of a monitored website, or enable authenticator-app two-factor authentication.
Before you begin
- Use an email address you can access now.
- Complete the verification in the same browser where you started signup.
- Allow the account-creation security check to finish before expecting the email.
- A verification code contains six digits and remains valid for 15 minutes.
- Requesting a new code makes the previous code unusable.
Verify your email
- Enter your account details on the signup page.
- Accept the Terms of Service and acknowledge the Privacy Policy.
- Select Continue to email verification.
- Complete the security check if it asks for interaction.
- The signup journey opens a dedicated email-verification step.
- Find the message from Uptime Basics in your inbox.
- Enter the six-digit code in the Email verification code field.
- Select Verify email and continue.
- Add the payment method required for the trial on the Stripe-hosted page.
Cloudflare Turnstile normally performs the security check automatically. It protects signup from automated abuse but does not verify your email, identity, phone number, website ownership, or two-factor authentication.
What happens next
After the code is accepted, Uptime Basics prepares the account and redirects you to Stripe. The account does not become active until secure checkout is completed and Stripe confirms the trial subscription.
If you later add another email address under Account > Alerts, that specific destination requires its own verification code. Your signup email remains the login email unless an authorized account process changes it.
Troubleshooting
The email has not arrived
Wait a few minutes, then check spam, junk, promotions, and mail filtering rules. Confirm that the address shown on the verification form is correct before requesting a new code.
If the page still shows that the security check is running or failed, complete or retry that check first. A verification email is not sent until the request passes the signup security check.
The code is incorrect or expired
Select Send a new code and enter only the most recent code. Five incorrect attempts end the current verification session.
The account already exists
Use Sign in or the password recovery flow instead of creating another account. A verified email address can receive only one free trial.
