Starter, Plus, and Pro use the same monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Choose a plan primarily by the number of monitors you need, how many sites require one-minute checks, and how many SMS alert segments you expect to use.

Monitors that do not use a one-minute slot can use a five-minute or longer interval. SMS allowances reset at 12:00 AM UTC on the first day of each calendar month, do not roll over, and do not create automatic overage charges.

Every paid plan includes:
- Downtime and recovery monitoring with multi-region failure confirmation.
- Email alerts, optional SMS alerts, and separate slow-response alerts.
- SSL certificate and domain-expiry monitoring.
- Detailed check logs with CSV export.
- Incident history with DNS, TCP, TLS, HTTP, regional-confirmation, and recovery context when available.
- Optional public status pages.
- Status-page branding, Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager, and custom status domains after ownership verification.
- Advanced request options, including redirects, accepted response codes, request headers, and Basic Authentication.
- The same raw-check, alert, incident, and long-term rollup retention policy.
These tools are not reserved for Pro. A Starter customer can use the same diagnostics, exports, and verified status-page customization as a Pro customer.
Why some status-page controls require verification
A basic public status page can be enabled without ownership verification. Branding, analytics, and a custom domain can make a page appear to represent the monitored website, so those controls remain unavailable until ownership is verified.
Verification is a trust requirement, not a plan upgrade. It applies in the same way to Starter, Plus, and Pro.
Choose Starter when
- You need up to 10 monitors.
- Five-minute checks are fast enough for every site.
- The included 20 monthly SMS segments fit your notification needs.
Choose Plus when
- You need up to 25 monitors.
- Up to five important monitors need one-minute checks.
- You need a larger allowance of 50 monthly SMS segments.
Choose Pro when
- You need up to 50 monitors.
- Up to 10 business-critical monitors need one-minute checks.
- You need the largest included allowance of 100 monthly SMS segments.
If your needs change
An upgrade activates the higher limits immediately after the billing confirmation. A downgrade is scheduled for the next renewal date so you keep the limits you already paid for through the current billing period.
If a downgrade would exceed the new monitor or one-minute limits, Uptime Basics asks you to choose which monitors remain active, which are archived, and which intervals should change before scheduling the plan change.
