The official Uptime Basics Privacy Policy explains how Shane-Andrew Syring, carrying on business as StackResolve, the Ontario sole proprietorship that operates Uptime Basics, collects and uses information, which service providers process it, how long operational monitoring data is retained, and which choices and privacy rights are available.
This Help article is a plain-language navigation guide. The official Privacy Policy controls if this summary and the policy differ.
Information covered by the policy
The Privacy Policy describes:
- Account identity and contact information.
- Verified email addresses and phone numbers.
- Monitored URLs and monitor configuration.
- Check results, response times, HTTP status codes, incidents, diagnostics, and alerts.
- SSL, domain-expiry, and public status-page configuration.
- Subscription and invoice information processed with Stripe.
- Support tickets, ticket replies, email messages, administrative access, and security-audit records.
- Optional analytics on public and marketing pages.
- Technical request and challenge information processed by Cloudflare Turnstile to protect account creation from automated abuse.
How information is used
Information is used to provide monitoring, display dashboards and reports, send requested alerts, manage accounts and subscriptions, provide support, prevent abuse, improve reliability, and meet legal obligations.
Uptime Basics does not sell personal information. Stripe processes payment methods, and Uptime Basics does not store complete payment card numbers. Cloudflare Turnstile helps distinguish legitimate signup requests from automated abuse and may process technical request details such as IP address, browser characteristics, and challenge results.
Monitoring-data retention
The current operational retention periods are:
- Raw check logs: 30 days.
- Alert history: 14 days.
- Aggregated monitoring summaries: up to 400 days.
- Incident history: the life of the monitor.
- Free service-status raw checks: 24 hours.
Paused, archived, and recently deleted data continues to age under these periods. A deleted monitor remains recoverable for 30 days unless the account owner requests permanent deletion sooner; permanent background cleanup then removes its configuration and associated monitoring history.
Support and administrative access
Authorized personnel may access information when reasonably necessary to answer a support request, operate or secure the service, administer billing, investigate abuse, or comply with law. Access is role restricted and purpose limited. Privileged views and changes are logged, support monitor changes require a reason, and routine technical support views mask saved request secrets.
Signed-in customers can submit and track support tickets from Account > Support. A ticket may include customer-selected monitor or incident context and a limited safe diagnostic summary. Uptime Basics does not intentionally include saved authorization headers, cookies, API keys, passwords, payment card details, or authenticator secrets in that support context.
Your choices
Depending on the feature and account state, you can:
- Change account contact and alert destinations.
- Disable email or SMS alerts.
- Pause, archive, reactivate, or delete monitors.
- Disable or remove public status pages.
- Manage subscription and payment settings through the Billing page and Stripe.
- Change optional analytics consent from Privacy choices.
- Request support-assisted account deletion after canceling an active subscription.
Depending on applicable law, additional rights can include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, appeal, non-discrimination, and a complaint to a privacy regulator. The official policy explains how Canadian, European, UK, and applicable U.S. privacy rights can be exercised.
Signed-in customers can submit and track these requests from Account > Support > Privacy and data rights. The account view shows the request status, identity-verification state, target date, and completion summary. The operating response target is 30 days, subject to applicable law and permitted extensions.
