When you select a lower plan, Uptime Basics asks what should happen to each current monitor. The numbered list helps you compare your selection with the new monitor and one-minute limits.
Nothing in this selection changes immediately. The saved actions are applied when the lower plan begins at the next renewal date.
Available actions
Keep active
The monitor remains part of the active dashboard under the new plan. Choose an interval allowed by that plan. A currently paused monitor can also be kept; it remains paused but continues to use one monitor position.
Archive
The monitor stops checking and is removed from the active dashboard when the downgrade takes effect. Its configuration is preserved in Archived monitors so it can be reactivated later when plan capacity is available.
Existing data continues to follow normal retention periods. Archiving does not restart or extend those periods.
Delete
The monitor moves to Recently deleted when the downgrade takes effect. Its status page is disabled, and the monitor can be restored paused for 30 days if the new plan has capacity. Permanent cleanup begins after the recovery period or when Delete permanently is selected.
Use Archive instead when you might need the monitor configuration or retained incident history later.
Fit the monitor limit
The selection must keep no more monitors than the new plan permits:
- Starter: 10 monitors;
- Plus: 25 monitors; or
- Pro: 50 monitors.
Both active and paused monitors selected as Keep active use this capacity. Monitors selected for Archive or Delete do not use capacity after the plan change takes effect.
Fit the one-minute limit
The interval dropdown shows intervals allowed by the selected plan. Starter has no one-minute slots, Plus has five, and Pro has ten.
If too many kept monitors currently use one-minute checks, change enough of them to five minutes or longer. Archived and deleted monitors do not use one-minute slots after the scheduled change.
Review a pending selection
After scheduling, the Billing tab summarizes how many monitors will be kept, archived, and deleted. Select Edit monitor selection before the effective date if you need to change those choices.
Monitor activity that occurs before the effective date does not change the saved action automatically. Review the selection again if you add, delete, pause, or reconfigure monitors while a downgrade is pending.
