Schedule a plan downgrade

Move to a lower plan at the next renewal date while keeping your current limits for the billing period you already purchased.

A plan downgrade is scheduled for the next subscription renewal date. Your current plan, monitor capacity, and check intervals remain available until that date, so you do not lose service you already purchased.

Schedule the change

  1. Open Account > Billing.
  2. Select the lower plan you want.
  3. Review the plan-change summary, including the current plan, new monthly price, and effective date.
  4. Select Continue to monitor selection.
  5. Choose what should happen to each monitor and adjust intervals that do not fit the new plan.
  6. Select Schedule plan change.

A confirmation shows the old and new monthly prices and the date the change will take effect. The Billing tab then displays a highlighted Scheduled account change notice.

What happens before the effective date

  • The current plan continues normally.
  • Existing monitor and one-minute limits remain available.
  • The lower monthly price is not applied early.
  • Selected archive, delete, and interval changes remain pending.
  • You can edit the monitor selection or cancel the scheduled change from the Billing tab.

At the renewal boundary, Stripe changes the subscription to the lower monthly plan. Uptime Basics then applies the saved monitor actions and new plan limits.

If the new limits are lower than current usage

Uptime Basics shows every current monitor and the limits of the selected plan. You must choose enough monitor and interval changes to fit both:

  • the total monitor allowance; and
  • the available one-minute monitor slots.

The plan change cannot be scheduled until the selection is valid. See Choose which monitors remain active after a downgrade for the differences between keeping, archiving, and deleting.

Edit or cancel a scheduled change

Open Account > Billing and use the Scheduled account change notice:

  • Select Edit monitor selection to revise monitor actions or intervals.
  • Select Cancel scheduled change to keep the current plan renewing normally.

Canceling the entire subscription also cancels a pending plan downgrade because there will be no next paid plan to apply.
