Subscription billing details are managed securely in the Stripe Billing Portal. This keeps invoice and tax information with the payment processor rather than mixing it with Uptime Basics login or monitor-alert settings.
Open your billing profile
- Open Account > Billing.
- Wait for the Billing overview to finish loading.
- Select Manage billing in Stripe.
- Use the new Stripe Billing tab to update the available customer information.
- Save the changes in Stripe, then return to the Uptime Basics tab.
Depending on the fields available for your customer and country, the portal can manage the billing name, billing email, address, phone number, Tax ID, and payment method.
Add or update a Tax ID
Open the customer-information area in Stripe Billing and use its Tax ID control. Select the correct Tax ID type and country, then enter the value exactly as registered.
Stripe controls Tax ID validation and displays eligible customer Tax IDs on invoice documents. A Tax ID that is pending or cannot be validated may not appear as expected. Contact a qualified tax professional if you are unsure which identifier or tax treatment applies to your organization.
When updated details appear
Billing details can be changed before an invoice is finalized. Future invoices use the current Stripe customer information, while an already finalized invoice can retain the information that existed when it was finalized.
After making a change, review the next invoice or its hosted Stripe page. Contact Support if the billing record and a newly generated invoice do not match.
What this does not change
- The email used to sign in to Uptime Basics.
- The account contact email selected under Account > Account.
- Default or monitor-specific alert destinations.
- Your subscription plan unless you separately confirm a plan change.
If Manage billing in Stripe is unavailable
The button becomes available after billing data has loaded and a Stripe customer is connected to the account. If this is the first subscription, select a plan and complete Stripe Checkout first. If the portal opens as a blank tab, allow popups for uptimebasics.com and try again.
Never send complete payment-card details or Tax ID documents through ordinary support email.
