Your monitors continue checking until the subscription end date shown on the Billing tab. When Stripe confirms that the subscription has ended, Uptime Basics disables scheduled monitoring for the account.
When paid service ends
- Enabled monitors are disabled and stop running scheduled checks.
- New outage, recovery, slow-response, SSL-expiry, and domain-expiry alerts stop.
- No new check data or incidents are created while monitoring is disabled.
- The account and monitor configuration are not automatically deleted.
- You can still sign in to review the account and retained information.
Cancellation does not rewrite earlier availability or incident results. It only stops new monitoring after paid access ends.
Data retention continues normally
Cancellation does not freeze data or keep every record indefinitely:
| Data | Retention after service ends |
|---|---|
| Raw check logs | Continue aging toward the normal 30-day limit |
| Alert history | Continue aging toward the normal 14-day limit |
| Aggregated rollups | Continue aging for up to 400 days |
| Incident history | Remains associated with the monitor for the monitor's lifetime |
| Monitor configuration | Remains until the monitor or account is deleted |
Data that reaches the end of its retention period cannot be restored merely by starting another subscription.
Paused and archived monitors
Monitors that were already paused remain inactive. Archived monitors remain archived and continue to keep their saved configuration without running checks. Their existing data follows the same retention rules.
Cancellation versus deletion
- Canceling a subscription stops paid monitoring at the end of the billing period and preserves the account and monitor configuration.
- Deleting a monitor moves it to Recently deleted for 30 days before permanent cleanup, unless Delete permanently is selected sooner.
- Deleting an account is a separate support-assisted process with a 30-day waiting period and permanent operational-data deletion after the waiting period.
Do not request account deletion if your goal is only to stop renewal while preserving the option to review your setup later.
If a monitor still appears active after the end time
Refresh the dashboard after the subscription end time. Stripe normally sends the final subscription update automatically, and Uptime Basics also performs a periodic reconciliation as a fallback. Contact Support if checks continue after the end date or if the Billing tab still shows the old subscription state.
