Upload a logo and favicon

Add authorized logo and favicon files to a verified public status page and understand the supported formats and size limits.

A logo helps visitors recognize who operates a status page. A favicon provides the small icon shown in browser tabs and bookmarks. Both features become available after ownership of the monitored website is verified.

Upload a logo

  1. Open the monitor's Public Status Page settings.
  2. Complete ownership verification.
  3. Open Branding.
  4. Under Logo, choose a PNG, JPG, or WebP image.
  5. Select Upload logo.

Logo files must be smaller than 512 KB. Uptime Basics validates both the declared format and the file's actual image signature.

The public page fits the logo within an area up to 180 pixels wide and 56 pixels high while preserving its shape. A simple horizontal logo with a transparent or uncluttered background usually works best. Avoid small text that becomes unreadable at status-page size.

Upload a favicon

  1. In the same Branding tab, choose a PNG or ICO file under Favicon.
  2. Select Upload favicon.

Favicon files must be smaller than 128 KB. Use a square image with a recognizable mark that remains clear at small browser-tab sizes.

Replace an existing asset

Upload a new file of the same type. The status page receives a new versioned asset URL, and Uptime Basics removes the previous stored object after the replacement succeeds. Refresh the public page if an open browser tab still shows the previous favicon.

Disabling the status page preserves its saved configuration for later use. Deleting the monitor disables public access while it is recoverable for 30 days. Stored branding enters cleanup only after permanent monitor deletion begins.

Use only authorized branding

Only upload logos, icons, or trademarks you own or are authorized to use. Ownership verification proves control of the monitored website; it does not grant rights to a third party's branding.

Uploaded assets are intended for public display on the status page. Do not upload private documents, credentials, internal screenshots, or information that should not be publicly accessible.

If an upload is rejected

  • Confirm the logo is PNG, JPG, or WebP.
  • Confirm the favicon is PNG or ICO.
  • Reduce the file below the applicable size limit.
  • Re-export the image if its extension does not match its actual format.
  • Verify ownership is still shown as Verified.
