Create a public status page

Publish a monitor-backed status page, choose its public URL and content, and understand what visitors can see.

A public status page gives customers a read-only view of one monitor without requiring an Uptime Basics account. Public status pages are available on Starter, Plus, and Pro plans and are off by default.

Before you begin

Create the website monitor first. The status page uses that monitor's completed checks, current availability state, response data, and incidents.

A basic page on status.uptimebasics.com does not require ownership verification. Verification is required later for logo or favicon uploads, custom styling, analytics, and a custom status domain.

Create the page

  1. Open Monitors and select the monitor you want to publish.
  2. Open Public Status Page in Monitor Tools.
  3. Select Set up Page.
  4. On the Overview tab, review the page URL slug, page title, brand name, and description.
  5. Select Save status page.
  6. Open Display and choose which optional sections visitors can see.
  7. Return to Overview and select Enable status page.
  8. Confirm the action, then open the displayed public URL to review the page.

The editor prevents changes while another status-page update is in progress. Wait for the saved confirmation before leaving the page.

What the public page shows

The page always provides the core monitor summary, including:

  • Page title and description.
  • Current Up, Down, Unknown, or Paused status.
  • Most recent check time.
  • Latest HTTP status and response time when available.
  • Uptime percentage calculated over the fixed seven-day status-page window.

You can also publish the uptime timeline, response-time view, recent history, and recent incidents.

Default display settings

New status pages start with:

  • Uptime timeline: On.
  • Response time: On.
  • Recent history: Off.
  • Incidents: Off.

These choices can be changed at any time without changing the underlying monitor or deleting its private data.

When data appears

The page snapshot is refreshed after completed monitor checks. Public status data is cached for about 60 seconds, so a new result may not appear immediately.

If the monitor has not completed a check, its status can appear as Unknown. If the monitor is paused, an enabled status page remains available but shows Paused rather than Up.

Public URL and search indexing

The shared page uses a URL similar to:

https://status.uptimebasics.com/example-status

Shared status.uptimebasics.com pages remain marked noindex. Search-engine indexing can be enabled only for an eligible verified custom-domain status page.

Next steps

  • Verify ownership before adding logos, custom styling, analytics, or a custom domain.
  • Share the public URL from your website, support replies, or incident communications.
  • Review the page after changing monitor settings or visible sections.
